Esc help

I’ve been having an issue with an 1806 motor I got from Flitetest. After trying multiple things and talking to a few people on here I focused my attention to the esc. Perhaps it’s not calibrated correctly? Embarrassing to admit but I have never calibrated an esc and don’t know how to. The aircraft and receiver is bound to the transmitter. I’m not sure if the esc automatically calibrated itself in the beginning but I can’t seem to get the beeps everyone talks about.

turn on your TX, push the throttle to 100%, plug in the ESC, after it does the beeping, throttle down to 0%... more beeping... then should be calibrated (might be a few up down cycles, I don't remember off the to of my head).

I did that but there’s no beeps to start with

Is the motor hooked up?
The beeps actually come from the motor not the ESC.
