ESC with BEC + UBEC = heat?

I recently added flaps to my bixler to lower my landing speed with all my fpv gear on board (I highly recommend adding flaps, they work great). But because I had to add 2 servos I thought it wise to add a 3A UBEC to the 2A BEC that is built into ESC, so I don't get a brown out. But now my BEC gets crazy hot. Should I clip the wire from BEC, so I don't use it any more?

Yes you should clip or remove the center wire from the ESC plug. I usually remove it so I can use it again in the future if needed. It is easy to just pull the pin from the plug and put a small piece of heat shrink on it to insulate it.
