Everyone needs an arborist’s line!

Normally I use this arborist’s line and throw weight to put up temporary antennas for ham radio stuff. It’s a great way to get a line way up in a tree without tangles, and enough heft to ensure the weight comes back down.

Yesterday our plane found its way into the clutches of a tree, about 35 ft up. It was securely wedged between branches on a main branch that was far too thin to attempt climbing. A couple of throws later, we had a line over the offending branch and were able to shake the plane out of the snag!

Great stuff. Made something similar at least 10 years ago. Did not know they had a name. For some reason the trees are like magnets to my planes!
