Hello; I am trying to make the fuselage core on the explorer 3/4" (12mm) taller at the tip of the nose. this will alleviate two problems

1. The 2200mah battery will fit on the front tray better.

2. The 9" prop will clear the boom even during some of my more "interesting" maneuvers.
trying not to whine, but I just don't get how to cut apart the pieces, move them and then re-connect them into one seamless piece again.

1. Imported the part into Inkscape. Selected the fuselage side. Used "Convert Object to Path". I now see nodes. I pulled a guide line from the side. I selected the node where the cut should be.

This is where I am stuck. Pulled a rectangular "cutter", I tried the "Cut Path", "Break Apart", and "Split Path" but it doesn't seem to do anything. Now I want to move the entire top of the piece that 12mm but don't understand how.

Node tool.
Select the node/s you want to break apart.
Select Break Path At Selected Nodes.
Then Click Path > Break Apart.
Then you can select all the nodes you want to move. You might be able to select/move as an object also.

Hmm I had an 11" prop on the explorer with a 4300 series motor, but also had added upthrust washers. Piece of tracing paper stuck on top would have been shredded, but had enough clearance otherwise

THANK YOU! Now that Christmas is in the past, I was able to add 12mm to the sides of the core pieces. Getting the "Snap" to function was interesting but I figured it out. I exported the individual pieces as PDF files and Printed them as a poster. Tape together and now ready to rebuild a "new" Explorer. I had already removed all the salvageable pieces from my old Explorer,so I am ready to start a new cycle.

PS. I found out from experiment and YouTube that if you change the measurement to "mm" and type say "+12" at the end of the coordinate fields, everything shifts by that amount. Makes it easy to move the pieces the exact distance you need.
