@telnar1236 :
Was away, so back to finish off our discussion on the 33 degree tilt wing as a STOL. To answer your question, don't know what airfoil it was, but it looks like it was hand drawn.
Original video starting with tilted wing:
A gyro was added to keep the fuse horizontal by being independently hooked up to the rear elevator only to keep it level. That way, the pilot uses throttle and my design of Televons, which is a set of elevons hinged 1/2 way on the trailing edge of the inner wing. So when up elevator is applied, both televon's leading edge goes down.
Shown below is aileron turn which has the right one deflecting down catching flow underneath and being deflected upwards while the left aileron catches flow on top and deflects it underneath. Got the idea.
Fences was added to direct airflow from props to televons.
Underneath is shown how servo and televons linkage is setup.
This is what it flew like when the wing's angle was too steep (33 degrees) and it was pretty much a controlled crash.
Maiden flight:
Decided to try shallower wing angles and gusty conditions, picked my test spot where the cross winds come around the building and cause havoc.
Reduced the angle and played around and found 25 degree tilt was flyable.
Remember now, the gyro on the fuse keeps it horizontal by changing the back elevator independently. By controlling the televons and differential motors for rudder on the wing, you end up improving the STOL that is very stable even with gusty winds. I was tweaking the angle of the wing upwards (28 degrees )till the last run where I was very satisfied in the development of a different type STOL that uses televons.
I decided to try another tilted wing based on a working model from a full scale STOL competition.
My version:
To sum it up, simply works as a STOL, but due to the weight and my small motor, it needs a heck of more thrust to lift it off to reduce the distance.
My limit from motor to circular tube allows only a 9" prop. Yes, could get a 3 blader' and larger motor, but might have to the lengthen the wing. When I get around to it, will investigate what I need to do.
As to the pig to fly, you said no way for EDF. How come?
