Finally finished the EZ B-58 Hustler. Maiden (for the 3rd and final version) in the morning...4 hours away. Thought I would take a beauty shot in case, you know, it ain't beautiful no more in the morning!

Well, that didn't go well...could not get it to fly at all. Worse one yet. Not sure what happened. The previous versions flew. This one just refused to fly. Oh well. Don't think I will be spending any more time on this project and therefore won't be releasing any plans anytime soon. To bad. It sure did look nice. :cautious:

Such a great looking design! Don't give up.
Maybe, let the community tinker with the plans a bit, @Rasterize . Gotta be a way to get that masterpiece to fly. Personally, I'd love to have at least one on my desk, while I tinker with another.

Has anyone converted an EZ model to a Spektrum receiver??

With respect, I'm not a fan of the EZ controller, as guess I'm spoiled by my DX9.
I built an EZ F7F (which I've not flown), and want to convert it to Spektrum.
But first I thought I'd ask if anyone has already done this.

Thanks, rick

Here's to hoping mine flys. Slow progress while working on a balsa build. Two tractor A pack radials with 6x3R props on smallish 3s. Maybe add gyro for first maiden? Not exactly EZ style. Never shared plans before, but I might if this goes well.

I have not seen this myself on these forums, but there is a member named Joe Carpino who has made some similar sized models using Spectrum bricks. While the EZ models use differential thrust, Joe's designs use dual brushed motors (with a Y splitter, I believe) and linear servos with small control surfaces.

Check out his plans and designs at www backcountryrc.com.

Hi Rick. Ya I dont particuly like the dinky little controller either and I also thought maybe I could bind it to my big fancy 16 channel with unlimited mixes and model memory. But then after flying the little thing a few times I think its better to have the feeling in my thumbs that "Oh ya. This is the little 2 channel thing with no elevator or rudder."
I also think part of the fun of the EZ is that it doesnt trim so you gotta tweak a little on the plane itself. And it practicly fits in a lunchbox. And its just simple and easy. I always find myself trying to over complicate things and the 2 channel controller might put me in my place a bit lol.
Thats a nice looking F7f you got there. I just skimmed through Ill have to go find the pdfs now.

That's an interesting site - thanks! rick

Someday I want a cnc cutter. What would you suggest I do different in the future so that I wouldnt have to redo my plans? Like stroke size?
Nothing. Stroke size is fine. Great plans, and graphics!!
I'm just modding it a bit so I can do a complete build, and then install the board/battery/servo/led's from the bottom, so they'll mostly be concealed. For the EZ Raptor, I had concealed electronics, but they had to be glued in and had to be cut out for reuse. I'm updating it and the EZ Guinea for bottom install after building. I think the EZ Dusty can be done that way too, so I'm gonna give it a try.

Ooooooh I didnt think of concealing the board like that. Thats gonna look much much better. Sounds like you're making V.3 for us lol. Thanks!

I was sad when I had to dissect my F22 to remove the electronics...
