The "adults" in charge want to be featured on the news and take credit. Some people are still mad that, the last time we did something similar and they invited the media, it was my picture in the paper.
Suggest you do the following. Take pics/video throughout the sessions. Look for teacher conferences, STEM meetings/conferences, prepare a 50 min talk using pics, video and submit outline, goals to see if you end up a "speaker". That is the way to see if they provide the funds(get even) to let you do that. Also, suggest you submit Flitetest (J Bixler) info on what you accomplished with STEM equipment and your students.

Not a bad idea, but my primary goal is getting kids motivated to learn. I really don't care about taking personal credit.

ETA: I do somewhat take offense when kids are shortchanged by adults that are in positions where they should know better, but don't.
Unfortunately this is a fact of life and something that is unlikely to change.

So, had some kids build one during lunch and it is predictably rough, but I'm really impressed. I'm going to have to refine this one for my own purposes when I get a chance.

So, my EZ Power Pack V.2 came in.
For the record the battery, motors, props and board between 25 and 26 grams combined. My postal scale can't do any better than that. I'll take it to the lab on Monday and get exact weights for everything.

The battery is about 10.5 grams on my scale. It might be a place to save a couple grams.

Mine is 27.8 grams
EZ Pizza Plank works!

I'll update the plans and edit them accordingly, as they were altered significantly to be adapted to cardboard. I'll also simplify a few things to make it more repeatable for kids to attempt.
@AgentC
Looking for 2 inputs.

What is the AUW and could you try holding the plane vertical and see if you can get it to do a hover by doing a quick release/grab?
Looking for ballpark figure what % throttle allows it to hover.

I'll have to do the vertical test and get back to you. It won't hover though due to the built-in gyro, but a VTO(-L) attempt could be a fun experiment...
