Grab the 2 intake skins and remove the paper from the side that has the score cuts in it.
Fold the skin at the score cuts. Hold the folds in for a while, breaking down the inner foam so the joint doesn’t spring back out too much.
Test fit the skin onto the fuselage where the red glue lines are shown in the picture. The onboard portion of the skin should jut away from the fuselage. Take note of the skewed sort of twisted shape. When satisfied with the fit, apply glue where indicated and glue the skin to skin F6, overlapping the paper a little to make a smooth joint.

Repeat for other side.

I noticed after assembly the skin was a little long. I trimmed it, but in the final plans I have corrected the template to the correct length.

Get out all the nose skins, starting at S5, down to S1. Remove paper from the side that has the score cut in it. For S1, either side is fine since there are no score cuts.
Each skin has a tick mark at the center and it should line up with the tick mark on former F1, and each new skin, you line up the tick marks. The seam where the skin comes together is always at the bottom of the plane.

For S5, I do it a little differently. I shape it using the bench edge, to the shape of former F1. Then I glue the skin ends together prior to gluing it to F1. Use some tape to secure the butt joint.

At the back bottom side of the skin where it wraps around the bottom of G1, pinch the foam a little tighter than the front end.
Apply the skin starting T the bottom of F1, lining up the tick mark. Then glue it on to F1, slightly shingling the paper over S6 to make a nice joint. As you work the skin onto F1, at the top, there is supposed to be a slight bulge of the skin up. This leaves gap where the canopy locking tab can slide in to secure the front of the canopy. See the pics.

For skins S4-S2, do not butt glue the ends together after shaping them on the desk. Instead, line up the center tick mark to each previous skin, shingling the paper over to make a nice fit, and glue one half of the skin on at a time, until the ends meet at the bottom of the fuselage where they are glued together.
Use tape to hold shingled pieces while glue dries.

For skin S1, cut a bevel at the nose end of the sheet, this will make the right roll at the nose easier. Then use the table edge to curve the skin and shape it.
Next, roll it in tight on the bench to make the curve even tighter. Finally, glue the nose skin together at the end and onto skin S2

More F-22 progress. Due to the time crunch of FF2025 coming up, I will refrain from documenting each build step so I can focus on getting it done. When I finish I will write an instruction set and put out a pdf.

Progress being made today on F-22 twin version.
I had a few alignment issues with the top sheeting I had to fix. This was not due to design or plans, but due to me not keeping the first sheet square.

Please ignore the patchwork on the nose skins as the plans were not right for those pieces and I had to fix them, but I decided to patch the nose with a strip of foam i stead of making a new nose, as this is a flightworthy test prototype. The Plans have been updated with new nosepieces.

Still turned out good despite that.
