I'm thinking it was totally nose heavy, or the horizontal stabilizer was misaligned.

Or maybe not enough speed? I heard this was a pretty heavy model.

That's a possibility. I've pulled the paper from the much of the inside of the foam as possible to lighten it. I wish I had video- it just refused to climb. I'll get some video for #2 to help with a potential post-mortem.

Well...it flew...until it didn't. Pretty twitchy with the CG, but got it up into the air. I was in the process of trimming it out way up high when disaster struck . Around 1:30 into flight, I lost all power and controls. I don't know what happened. It went down hard into the trees behind our flying field. I was only able to find a very puffed battery, a wingtip, and the canopy. The rest is 60 feet up in a tree, laughing at me.
As much as it pains me to say this, I think I'm done with foamboard for a bit while I grieve. Seems like I'm losing a battle lately with trees, delaminating DTFB, and the expenses of having to replace electronics when they are destroyed by my crappy piloting and/or foamboard builds.

Evening Mr Man, I got the clear canopy from China, there’s a Chinese ARF twin 70mm EDF F4 ,thought I’d use their canopy. I’ve put hand hold recesses under the fuselage, in line with the C of G to hand launch.

Gorgeous! You must have been holding on to your kit for a while- the FT store has been sold out of them forever! Great build.

I’ve had the kit for a couple of years. As you mentioned, you can’t buy them now - same with F18. Flite Test advise to build one of their simpler builds before a Master Series. I looked a the build videos loads of times and got my head round it, also it’s my first experience using a hot glue gun. The mapping symbols and build by FT is very clever. I’ll probably build another FT kit, probably the C47 / DC3.
