I flew it right between me and the sun and by the time I could see again it was headed straight down at full throttle.

I've had a similar thing happen to me, with my twin boom v2. Flew behind a silo, couldn't turn it. Next time I looked I was heading like 4/5 throttpe straight into the ground, at around 30-50mph, unrepairable. Can't call it completely pilot error--or can we?

I often hit the hill in FMS. You dont have any depth perception.

Because of not having depth perception, I hit everything LOL

I can run Microsoft Flight Simulator for fullsized aircraft in anaglyph (red-cyan glasses) 3d using "TriDef 3D" It is awesome, yet a great CPU-eater!

Yep! I somehow almost ALWAYS hit a tree!

Yeah, I have FSX, but I can't run it, because we have no good enough PC's(But we have a decent mac! XD)

Haven't had a crash in while, but in the pursuit of speed I built my Su 37 light. No carbon rods or anything. Things were going fine for the maiden flight, then on the second I decided to see what it really can do. I was in a steep dive full noise and a wing folded off and cracked the plane down the center. Wish I had it on film. Here is what was left.

The video inside that thread gives you a good example of how much noisereduction you have. If I were you, I would consider doing that.

Also tape might not be enough as the wings are what it holds the most. It could be possible but peeling off with time, might be another issue.
I would redo the plane and get a bit of carbon into it. That will stiffen it up and you don´t have any tape on the plane making it look better

The ember in the basketball net was my son's first time around the gym, the four star broken in half was a motor failure right after take off while inverted, the float with the prop damage was a hobbyzone supercub that recovered from inverted flat spin just a hair too late and slammed into the ground upright but bounced the prop off the floats at WOT. The MSR with the landing gear wrapped around the rotor head still has us scratching our heads. Got to be top five weirdest crashes I've had. I have much more crashes in store lol

Failure to cut the throttle following impact results in the heli doing the funky chicken dance and this happens lol. Best part was I put it right back together and kept flying.
