I would assume so, but you might want to contact the AMA to find out for sure. Is the park pilot "rating" still considered an AMA membership?

I have at&t and I had very limited service at FF14. Funny thing is I had good service, 2-3 bars and 4g, in the porta john at the edge of the soybean field. No need to ask how I know this. :)

Roflol noted porta-potty if i need to make a call. I had Sprint last year and it was worthless. looking for sone service good enough to stream Netflix for my kid's been looking it isnt the clearest online on map coverage T-Mobile website was acting dumb cricket was silly as well service seems possible but the data stream is what was unclear if i find anything positive I'll post the info i find on streaming cell coverage incase anyone's looking for it as well.

Thanks

I had park pilot last year you should be fine. You are issued a AMA number and your insured thru AMA and that im sure is what Flite Test is needing to cover any property damage or personal injurys. Park pilot planes is Flite Tests specialty

AT&T is terrible in that whole area. As noted oddly enough I too had good reception by the john's, but only in a tiny swath of area, LOL. We camped a few miles to the south and it was a dead zone as well.

I plan to just get a cheap Verizon prepay phone before the event. Folks on Verizon had good reception last year. We actually camp at a few places where Verizon works and AT&T does not so it will be used elsewhere too.

Rob that may be optimistic.

While you may have fair/good signal, you'll be sharing it with 700 of your closest friends. Last year the local cell was heavily overloaded (bandwidth != signal strength), and no word yet on whether a temporary cell will be rolled in to support the event. Even still, I'd plan on bringing offline content, if you can.

I didn't think of us overloading the tower.... According to a report on disaster relief in Haiti, texting takes up less of the tower's bandwidth than voice so we all have to pretend to be teens and just text like mad.

lol . . . so if only we could get Netflix to stream ascii starwars?

or maybe an ascii conversion of a flite test video:

"Hi, I'm Josh and today we're going to show you how to build a kraken"

Good point that slipped my mind.

Rule Number one: Don't actually kill the flite test crew.

corollary: don't kill anyone in the crowd either.

As far as the combats, only the NASBWACC has any rules, and that's the airframe -- it's a Bloody Wonder(ish) only combat. For everything else, stay clear of the crowd and knock other airplanes out of the air :)

Since RVs are allowed, I take it it'd be ok for a generator on the primitive side? Might not bring it, just checking. And will there be potable water available, or should I bring my own? Thanks guys!

Could a locked FAQ thread be started with the do's & don'ts for the volunteers? I have been trying to keep up on all the volunteer threads, but I'm sure I've missed some. With an FAQ, we could start there, and if we have questions, ask them here. If it seems to be good information for all, have an administrator add it to the FAQ.

I'm thinking that with all the pages of questions asked, if we have a compiled list of questions and answers, we could go there, read what has already been dealt with. By the time July rolls around, this thread will be very long. An FAQ thread witll avoid a lot of repeated questions and answers.

Not really a question

More of an idea.

Was wondering if there will be a "print center" of sorts where builders or (Flite Test Crew) can print Flite Test plans for us scratch builders. Could be like a minimal charge for the service.

Just an idea.
