FFE 2019 dates?

I know it's kind of early, but at my job we need to pick our vacations several months to a year in advance. Does anyone have the dates for Flite Fest East 2019? I'd like to see if I can get that week off and attend.

I'll be watching this thread, if anyone gets the word, please post it here.
I'm like @Arcfyre in that sooner is better know. I have to schedule in Sept. but with enough warning, I can sometimes finagle something.

I'm not sure I'd want to bet on it, but it seems likely to expect FF Ohio for the second weekend in July.

Other than that, I doubt if anyone knows anything at all about any additional events at this point.

Yes.... well if it helps another vote for west...

You and me both. I doubt it'll be at the location it was before (I heard there were lots of issues of people over flying the freeway), but you never know what'll turn up. If I thought my club would be open to it, I'd suggest our field (we've got a 600' runway, a separate field for helicopters, and a separate field a mile or so down the road for drones/parkflyers), but we also don't have the room for 100+ people wanting to do onsite camping (but we're right next to a bunch of campgrounds and casinos with hotel rooms!).

Oh well, I'm sure something will be worked out.

Any updates to when FF will be this year? I FINALLY get to go this year, the wife is coming too, and i need to get vacation request in. The sooner the better. The FF website hasn't been updated yet so i assume it hasn't been announced officially. Just wanted to know if any of you "insiders" had any inside information.

FF Ohio will most like be July 11th - 14th 2019, and should be at Furey field for a least the next year or two. At this point Edgewater Airpark will not be ready to host a FF in 2019. I think there may be same smaller events held this year at Edgewater including RMRC Fest.

I am not an “FT Official”, but here’s what I think I know ... ;)

FFOH 2019 will definitely be at Furey Field this year, as Edgewater is not ready for such an event. Visits will be arranged, so checking it out is still possible, or so I have heard from FT staff.

The dates are not officially announced as of this post, however if history is a guide it will likely be the second week of July. I leave FT officials to confirm or correct me.

IF there is to be a FF California, it will definitely NOT be at Vallejo Fairgrounds. FT will not be going back there. Other locations have been suggested by several parties, including myself, however no decision has been rumored or even alluded to either way.

That is all I know or even am able to speculate about.

We will keep waiting I guess. I hope we have another in the southeast, but while I had a great time in Lake Wales, I can't imagine it was easy doing a FF at an airport.

You guys are all wet. What we really need is FFMW Flight Fest Midwest, some where in IL or IA.

My vote for location would be in KY or TN. Right in the middle of about 10 or more states. Making it about a 6 or less hour drive for a lot of the country. Anyway, guess I'll request those days off as mentioned above and change it later if needed.

Any reasons about why Vallejo's off the table? I'd heard rumors of freeway overflights, and issues with onsite camping, but only rumors. And if it's not something we want to visit, that's fine, it's more me being curious so as to what can be avoided in some events my club wants to put on this year...

I don't remember camping being an issue, but the proximity to the freeway was the chief concern that I'm aware of. Not only the closeness, but also the fact that the prevailing winds blew TOWARDS the freeway from the flightline,

I believe this is also reinforced by the site going under a bulldozer recently . . . but that's second-hand knowledge.

As is probably tradition by now, is there still nothing planned for us european peoples? We might have to take matter into our own hands if that continues

I wouldn't doubt the bulldozing...That makes a LOT of sense. As of Nov, they were still tearing down the grandstands, it looks like, after a quick search.

Hmm. Now I'm beginning to wonder what scale our field could handle. We've got 2 fields (Helicopter and airplane) in one location, plus a separate drone/parkflyer location about 5 mi. away from our current field, but there wouldn't be room onsite for tons of camping. There ARE nearby campgrounds that people could camp at, though, and maybe we work out a deal with them, I dunno.

That said, our club president DID propose a "Joe Nall" sized event to the club back in May of last year...
