First build - Simple Cub

I finished my Simple Cub and with a buddy box firmly attached had my first flight tonight. What a hoot. 3 channel, steady 7mph winds with gusts up to 15mph.

My excellent instructor, Frank, did the take-offs and landings. It was so windy that the Simple Scout just hovered before landing.

It flew beautifully. What a rush to see something you've built take off and fly and land. The attached pic was taken AFTER today's flight... it's still in one piece!

Everyone commented about how well it did in that wind.

Cheers.

The prop's not broke off, the wing tips are not scuffed, no crinkled pieces...nice. great job!

Thanks. I know... still in one piece!!! That's all really down to Frank. With that wind the Cub practically jumped off the ground.
