Hello all, I am very new to RC and hope to gain some insight from you more experienced flyers. A buddy and myself are going in on this project together, and after doing our homework we've come up with this list from hobby-king.

Will it work is the big question, I believe so but any input would be appreciated!!
We will be getting push rods locally. We already have a spectrum 2.4GHz DSM2 AR6100e reciever also.
There are 4x servos and 2x batteries.
It is all from the US warehouse and if you have suggestions please take that into account.

The Orange Tx is supposed to be a good one and I may get one soon myself.

The battery charger needs a power supply, but you already know that because you have that included in the list. Which that is the battery charger I have. I have nothing to compare it too, but it's a really good one.

If I were you, I'd get a 30amp ESC. Don't get me wrong, 18amp is probably enough, but a 30amp doesn't cost that much more or really weigh any more and it's worth the extra security. But that's just personally what I do. The 18amp should be fine.

I either have that motor, or a very similar one and it's great for an 8x4 prop and a 3S battery on the FT Flyer.

The motor is suggesting to use a 8x6 with a 2S battery. So, you should be fine with the motor, prop, and battery set up.

2200mah battery is kind of heavy. You can get away with it if you build light. I'm not sure what you're building, but that battery should be fine with a FT Flyer if you don't cover the plane with anything. Minwax and paint is fine, just don't go crazy with tape. Tape is heavy.

Although, if you can afford it, probably get a few different sized batteries with your first order. A 1000mah 2S battery, 500mah 2S battery is sometimes nice to have, a 1000mah 3S, and a 2200mah 3S go go along with your 2200mah 2S. But not necessarily all of those. The main thing is that if you have a motor that can handle a 2 or 3 cell battery, try to get one of each.

I have no idea on those servos.

I used to use those control horns and I hated them. I have a bunch and I don't use them. The problem is that if you're building with foam board, you end up gluing the horns on to the paper and the paper just peels off. It's better to get a control horn that you have to cut a slot for. Like home made ones made out of gift cards or zip ties or order a pack of control horns from Flite Test.

Get some lock tight for your linkage stoppers. You don't want to over tighten them and you don't want them to get loose.

It's all good, I think you researched and chose well. If the control horns don't work out for the reasons mentioned above, go with popsicle sticks or gift card horns, or even the dental pick version (it's what I use when I don't want to break into my FT horn supply)

I use those servos exclusively after trying many different 9g servos, I love them and they have never failed. I do use the metal gear version for some applications but for basic foamies, they are my go to servos.

Don't worry about the esc, the motor shows 10 amps max so 18 is more than enough. I do agree about grabbing some smaller batteries if you plan on trying the smaller swappables.

My trick with these linkage stoppers is to put a drop of hot glue on the threads after I install them. They do have a tendency to loosen on the control arm/horn. Happy building.

I just remembered something, bullet connectors and XT60 connector for your esc, as well as some shrink tubing. These motors and escs come bare wired. Hopefully you can find them at your LHS, if not, be sure to get an order in.

3.5mm is the general size for the bullets but you can get away with 2mm with this amperage, XT60 is what is on the battery you ordered and, though you can use many different connectors I find that sticking with what comes on your favorite brand of battery is the best to use, save some soldering time.

I held off from buying just for this reason. First time around I would't have caught anything like that, thanks again
