First Gyro Flite (sorta)

So my 3rd flight out with my Yak 12, I crashed, and needed some extensive repairs...

I got adventurous, went on Amazon... and purchased an new xmtr/rcvr (FS-i6) and a $14 3 axis gyro.

I installed the gyro, got my radio all set and took it out for a new 'maiden'... It flew great, and the gyro did it's job as it should have. I was having some issues with anemic elevator and found I had to keep constant down elevator beyond trim settings to fly level...

I decided to take it in for a landing, but it was a tad rougher than I would have liked. It caused zero damage, but it did dislodge the gyro from it's adhesive mount... so (not thinking)... I stuck the gyro back on and brought it back to my take off strip.

I hand-launched... and not seconds later did I realize... I put the gyro in BACKWARDS. The TINIEST input on my controls was causing the most hilariously violent aerobatics I've ever performed.

There was no saving it. Donked it into the dirt at 1/2 throttle.

Let this be a lesson... MARK YOUR GYRO with an arrow... lol.
