Booms look great. It's one of my favorite flyers- with the counter rotating props, it will just float out of your hand with a gentle toss. Nice work, Houndpup!

Thanks! building it with my brother, he did better on the booms, mine got little perpendicular wrinkles in it.

I ended up rebuilding the nose cone. The side got molded/dented in when I was building it do to very hot glue (probably too much) draining down the inside and me holding to hard and not quite on the former. I got a hot glue gun for Christmas that goes very very hot with a variable temp and I am still trying to find the optimum temp. As you can see in the pictures the second one turned out better. :)

Good for you for rebuilding right away rather than regretting later!

Yeah, I think I might do the booms again. they didn't turn out so good. let me know if the amount of wrinkling is normal or if I could get better results. Its hard to show in the pictures. One of them also snapped when was installing! the amount of wrinkling you see is like that along most of the smaller side. Also I don't think there were etch marks in the plans for lining up the boom on the wing or if there was I didn't see it, does anyone know hoe far from the center line in the wing they are?

There are alignment marks on the lead and trail edge of the upper wing panel. (v1.1)
Trail edge mark is 190 mm from inner edge.
Lead edge mark is 165 mm from inner edge.

If you dig through the P-38 forums, I recall there's some posts about the correct placement on the wing. I usually just kind of eyeball it, but I know I've seen the exact measurement somewhere. I've made several P-38s over the years, and on only one did I have the booms built without any wrinkles. The rest have had a wrinkle or two in them. Just remember, it will still fly fine even with wrinkles in it.
