Flare challenge

This is something I've been thinking of for a while, and currently the only thing that's really stopping me from doing this is lack of money and materials. So, I thought I'd put out a challenge!

The challenge is to create a "flare" system on their plane of choice using regular party poppers. Any airframe can be used, though it would be cool to see it as something you can re-use on different models. My original idea was to hook up a servo to one somehow, but I'm not sure if it would be strong enough. Anyway, good look to anyone who decides to take up on this challenge, have fun!

Yeah, sorta like that. But using those little party poppers that fire little clumps of streamers (like these: http://www.purple-heart.com/images/_lib/single-party-popper-1573-0-1285688310000.jpg ) instead to give the effect.

Thinking there may be some way of using some tiny Nichrome wire shoved into the tail of the popper. Flick a switch, current heats the wire and ignites the charge in the popper.

Then sets fire to the plane...

Fiery ball of foam board falling to the ground...

... I may have to rethink this idea.

Haha, I just thought you could maybe use a servo to pull the string. But whichever works best! xD
