With the growth in popularity of edge tx, I’d like to see a stem like walk through on how to program the radio, bind rxs etc. I know there’s plenty of videos out there, but just like the stem/build events, having someone there to walk people through radio gear might be pretty helpful, esp since FT is selling radio master prod.

For the last number of years yes. I think the original date conflicted with another big RC flight event.
It used to conflict with my wedding anniversary so I had to be extra good to get a kitchen pass. Now it is just after Father's day, and it makes for an easy ask. :)

Back to the barn topic: whole point was to fly plane through standard issue barn door :O I have never seen a barn with 30ft+ wide doors and the movies from the '20 & '30s dont show both sides. Process is suspect, then
A cheap recycled tent from a thrift store would work well enough with a second opening.

FT is still a niche product with a smaller than 1% population following. Needs to be like the Reno air races. When was the last time you went to the AMA Nationals?

I have never had the opportunity to check out AMA Nats since starting in the hobby in 2017.
The only rep I get is my local "no you can't" field, and the magazine that echoes the trend..

I was looking at it from a WS, vs.
Opening ratio. Most barns say 30' most small single seaters from the 30's like the Lincoln Sport are 22-24' WS. For the original FT-blender bipe with a 40" opening, a 60" door is close.

I agree that the real barnstorming doesn't entirely add up. Looks like TV magic some

A 3D printed flyer gathering. I have really been wanting to see someone lawn dart one to see what is left. I would LOVE to see some 3D printed planes in combat too!

I am up for this myself. I have quite a few planes 3D printed which need to be finished.

I am looking at possibly throwing LED strips inside a sail plane that is printed with clear-ish PLA.

Here's my self designed ABS Octo-UFO

I have thought about scaling it up to 3" props

Flite Fest 24 was a fun for everyone. Aside from it being the hottest week of the year, we had a great time. Obviously, the wind was an issue on Saturday. How about people bring Airplane themed Kites for windy days. Kites can battle!
Who doesn't remember the water logged Flite Fest 17. Bring or build boats for giant puddles! Boats can batlle.
8 - 12 tables is enough space for 1/28th scale rc car race track. The cars can fly too.
More ideas people. We have creative thinkers in this family called Flite Test!
I challenge the Flite Test Community to come up with more alternative ideas for unplanned weather issues.

Flying car races - you have to take off as a flying car, do a lap, then land and either fold away your wings or eject them and do a drag race around some tables or a rock crawl of some sorts.
