Trending is wetter hotter summer, so perhaps a mud sauna with a dust bath later?

And a general rule: has to fly twice, once after the win. (Avoids plonking the landing with spontaneous disassembly and launching into the monster tornado thermal to win)

How about a "Free" Market day or time where we can offer up our surplus supplies to those newer to the hobby? I was trying to give away as much as I could last year, I even traded a Spektrum transmitter for 2 bags of ice. Some folks can't carry too much home if they flew in, so it would help them to unload any leftovers. I was gifted a fully-built plane 2 years ago for this reason. Either way, there will be a "free for all" table in front of my campsite this year, look for it if you need piano wire, dowels, glue guns (I must have 6 and I only use the one), skewers, servos, servo horns (by the millions) connectors, balsa scraps/chunks, a couple receivers, 6 channel DSM transmitter, etc.

does anyone know if a radar gun would work (safely) for gauging plane speed? if it did it would be fun to see if FT could invite local PD to send someone over for speed runs. participants could make small donations to the department/charity. it would be good outreach.

would plane need to be flying directly at the officer for it to work? if so that would kind of make it hard to be done safely. i don't think i'd want to stand in the field with planes coming at me at high speed. at least not on purpose.

I'm pretty sure a radar gun or three will be there, they are easy to buy these days. I'd love to see a speed competition, I think it can be done safely.
