Flite Fest camping

I went to FF23 and am coming back for 2025 but I want to camp this time. Do FT have tents to rent on site or do we have to bring our own? I’m coming quite a ways so wanted to ask here first.

You will need to arrange your own tent. It may be plausible someone here on the forums could help you out.

As LB said, bring your own tent.
There is a camper rental near FF, they will deliver & set it up for you. I know of atleast 2 camper rentals at FF24
Do you mean camper van rental or camping tent rentals? Delivering and set up would be very convenient.

If you are interested in renting an RV to camp At FF, I believe this is the place. They advertised on the FF24 page, even have a discount code for FF.

On the topic of camping at FF, there are a couple things that I’d like to see changed. I’m hoping that FT folks take these into consideration.

The first is that in 2024, there were some very loud and very brightly lit planes being flown after midnite last year. While I support having fun with night flying, it made it impossible to sleep in a tent. My entire tent was lit up every 30 seconds as the plane flew by, along with the noise. I think there should be a reasonable curfew on flying. It should be enough to give people time to do a few hours of night flying, but still give people a chance to sleep.

On a related note, please consider restricting generator running hours in the tent area as well for the same reason. Maybe don’t have the RV section right next to the tent section.

Thanks for considering this!

In years past, 10PM has been the cutoff for generators in the "primitive" camping area.

As for flying late, I was surprised at how early people quit flying in '24. It's been 2-3 AM in past years and it didn't make it much to 12AM most nights this year. That Said, this year I was camping by the build tent, and all previous years I was on the far east side of the camping. May have been more going on over at the far end of the field. In any case, Flying quiet away from the flight line or at center stage would be best if you are flying late.

The generators were in the RV area right behind the primitive area. Maybe they could restrict it in the RV areas near the tents too. That was in ‘23 and there was a line of RVs at the back, behind all the tents.

This year I was also up by the flight line, so I was more affected by the loud and bright planes. They were definitely after midnight though. If I come again this year, I’m going to try to stay as far as possible away from the flight line to try to avoid that.

A guy across from me ran his old, noisy generator 24/7 last year. I'm strapping an airhorn to my rc truck in case it happens again this year. That's basic campground etiquette, my other neighbors at ff agreed to gen only during the day. HOWEVER, in all fairness, it was incredibly hot so maybe they had to run a/c. In that case I can be a little more tolerant, but get a battery, man!

Find a volunteer and let them take care of issues like that. If they can't resolve it, they will let the Red Shirts resolve it.
