I think another thing to mention is it seems that whichever one you go to, east or west, be prepared for lots of walking. I got myself a little collapsible trailer to pull all my stuff to the flight line.

So I am assuming the campground registration for ff west means first night to camp is the 27th? I will be driving up on the 26th (the day before the event starts) so it would be convenient to be able to camp the night before the event starts. Anyone know for sure when the campground opens for ff west?
if you check the schedule of events, it has registration opening wed evening so i would guess probably.
