Flite Test Aura Lite

I bought the FT Mighty Mini Tiny Tutor Bundle. I am relearning how to fly. Is the FT Aura Lite compatible with the bundle? Is it overkill for this setup?

It should have no problem working with the Tiny Tutor, but it will need a serial reciever instead of a PWM reciever. It's up to you if you want to put it on any particular model. I have a couple and they add another dimention to flying to the planes I have them on. AutoLaunch is great for planes that are notoriously tough to launch or if you want time to drop your FPV goggles down after a launch. Gyro mode can help get rid of bobbles in gusty/windy conditions, and give a more precise fly-by-wire feel. Auto-leveling can be useful for training, or smoothing out flying.

I don't understand the difference.... does the bundle I purchased (FT Mighty Mini Tiny Tutor Starter Bundle) not have the correct receiver for the Aura? this is what it came with:
  • 1 – FT Mighty Mini Tiny Tutor kit
  • 1 - Power Pack A v.2
  • 1 - RadioMaster Pocket CC2500 W/ Batteries and R84 Receiver
  • 1 - Tattu 800mAh 7.4V 45C 2S1P
  • 1 - B3 Pro Compact Charger with Battery Checker/Alarm
I also purchased 2 extra batteries and a servo tester.

As LitterBug mentioned the R84 is a PWM receiver only and you will need a receiver that has serial port to hook to the aura. Serial is a single wire ( controls all functions ) from receiver to the Aura, PWM each wire ( port ) controls one function.

The receiver you would want is the R88, which costs $14 more. There’s an R86 that is cheaper, but not on the FT store.

OK. then I will hold off on purchasing the aura. If it becomes too squirrely for me to fly, I'll look into purchasing the other receiver and the Aura.
Thank you for all the help.

To Join the Thread; There is a Aura 5 forum under "Transmitters, Receivers and Flight Stabilizers". There are several FT YouTube videos on the Aura and it's foibles.
