LUNCHES!!!!

Why for no lunches at FFO...?

Did someone crash into or kill a cow and you all had to hide the evidence? Yall didnt eat Norman did you?

There was almost no food available. Hardly any food vendors. Had to do it.

Nice collection of photos!

Awesome photos! Thanks for posting! I had a great time there on Fri/Sat, I was the guy flying the scale choppers. Have to agree on the food though. There was one food truck that sold out by dinner both days.

I enjoyed your choppers. Nice builds. I'm always impressed how the mechanics of a helicopter can be hidden. If I were going to get into helicopters, I think I'd enjoy doing the scale over 3D - but don't tell Steve and Kevin!

Thought the venue had on site showers. Didnt I see that mentioned in earlier posts regarding the grounds layout.

Also Eddies F18 is gorgeous. Is that a normal skin or a custom vinyl gfx.

Eddie will have to tell you about the plane... and I bet his wife can shed light on the "showers", which were described as "Mash Style" open top open bottom with scads of leaves and debris. After hearing this, I didn't even venture the 1 mile trek to see for myself. This was not a bash to FFTX planners. They too were told there were showers there.

Wake up! Time to fly!
Well... theres always a babbling brook somewhere close and FF is technically camping hehe

Bottom line it looked like standard issue FF fun from the pics n vids I have come across.

They all have their challenges to overcome.

Yeah, and you should have seen how swift those babbling brooks got on Wednesday evening after the rain. I should have got pictures of the little streams crossing bridges and washing over roadways. You'd certainly be clean when (if) you got out. It was fun... learned how to stay clean and fresh in other ways.

Thanks! Scale is a super fun sub genre of the Heli world for sure! The history of the real birds really adds another dimension and the flying style is a lot easier on the mechanics.

Love the F-18 videos as well! Great to see Andre getting some stick time, and that is one sharp looking paint scheme!

Some of the terrain was pretty low. My rented SUV hydroplaned on the way in Wednesday, and I wasn't going that fast.

I would have rather had showers... ;)

the funny thing... they had them... but you had to go down the road, across the main road into apache pass park or whatever it was and there was a shower house back there with hot water... so not convenient... but they where there... along with proper toilets... just neither was well known about it seems... and it was about a full mile from the airfields... also not open top as mentioned above... fully enclosed... not sure if it was stalls or a shower room setup though... do know it had a side for guys and another for girls...

I do agree with the food... I came prepared to cook at camp... but didn't bring water... we picked up a few gallons of water the first day while in town... and ended up going into town for either lunch or dinner (and cooking the other meals at our tent) the other days...
