Flying car type of futuristic thing.

I came across this neat concept design graphic a few years ago, it is an unusual configuration and looked darn cool. I have a flying car prototype I was working on at the time I'll share later. This actually when converted to a simple free flight chuck glider actually flies quite well. It's slated for further future development.

I used a clear 2 piece Build Your Own Christmas ornament for the dome on mine in the other thread. Original was limited to 1.9" props by my 200x200 3D printer. I want to redo it sometime as a 3" prop version on the 300x300 I have now. Also thought about carving one out of foam to put over the F550 hex drone I have.

Files including the OpenSCAD source I made are on Thigiverse.

That car is very doable. Be watching this one. A set of 40mmEDF's and that is a go.
The tail spoiler stabilized it to surprising levels, even on a tiny chuck glider I noticed it was significant. Who ever dreamed this thing up didn't know how well they dialed it in upon. I'm going to be doing the RC version with forward wing pusher configuration. EDF's need more attention to values that make it much harder to integrate into original prototype configurations like this.

Almost resembles a Burnelli wing design - not the most efficient things and you get some crazies when it comes to dealing with them, but they sure look cool and tend to fly nice.

He did some impressive, futuristic designs for sure. I think from a designers perspective at least, we really would want to be designing them to be underwater, the density changes dramatically and the gravity is lower of sorts. I did a manta ray chuck glider in this kind of a format, added fins and the rest, it was absolutely hopeless of a flying thing, it was an anti flying glider, even though we know the manta ray swims perfectly in the water. I can go on with ground effects based planes and they become highly unstable when they are no longer using ground effects to stay aloft, open air like a regular plane.
