Flying near a hospital with a helipad???

I'm trying to figure out if I'm allowed to fly in a location that might present special issues related to airspace (.5 miles from a hospital with a helipad, on VA campus). I can't find a clear answer, but legally it appears to be fine. Wanted to get some advice before going out there

Not knowing who owns the land and how your area perceives RC vehicles, I'd be cautious. looks like it is VA land which can have restrictions of it's own even if there are no issues with the airspace. They used to put halos around all the helipads, but that appears to be more.relaxed these days.

The Air Aware map for that area appears clear, but that is not always the final say

It depends on what type of airspace it is in. You need to install “Drone Zone” or something else that uses the same database to see. The hospital helicopter pads near me are in class G airspace so no restriction. Be aware though that even if the airspace is unrestricted you still have full responsibility to see and avoid. Personally I’d give it a wide berth as there are plenty of places to fly that have no sketchiness to them.

Lol. I am in south florida near an air force base, hospital and other no fly zones. Luckily I still have a park that I don't get hassled at.

Yeah, its VA property. I'm a grad student and my program is housed on campus, so I'm definitely not trespassing. They welcome students to do activities on this lawn, and I see people doing disc golf, walking dogs, football from time to time. Its more a question of this specific activity in my mind
