FlySky FS-i6x channel 4 needs MAJOR subtrim for an R2D2 head

Hello all. I actually don't fly planes. I am building an R2D2. I use the flysky FS-i6x as an RC controller for driving my droid. Channel 1 and 2 drive his feet (like a tank). Channel 3 (throttle) is unused. It's channel 4 that is giving me problems. Channel for is the horizontal movement of the left stick and it's what rotate's R2's head.
I have it hooked to a friction wheel. It's actually this product. https://www.graniteearth.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Drive
So when I move channel 4 left, the wheel rotates one direction and his head spins. Since it's a DC motor, it's just positive and negative, so I can get his head to spin the other way when I go right.

The problem is this. I have to, for some unknown reason, put the subtrim in the menu options all the way in one direction and EVEN THEN, I have to use the little trim tab on the controller to push it a little more, just to keep him from rotating in either direction. Basically, the trim seems wildly off. I have no explanation for this. Is there a way other than the subtrim to calibrate a channel or a stick on this RC? Any suggestions other than what I've done (move the stick all the way over?) If I adjust endpoints, that doesn't help me, does it? What I really need it to adjust START points, but that's the trim and that's what I'm doing. It wouldn't be a big issue except that I don't have much more room to go, and if it gets worse, I won't be able to find any more trim?

Help me pilots. You're my only hope.

Are the bars showing that the stick is centered in the "Display" option in the "Function Settings) menu?

oh, no. It looks like it shows that I'm to the left because of the changes that I've made to the trim in order to get it to stop moving. I can get it back to the middle on display by resetting all the trim to middle, but that causes the motor to spin in one direction instead of not moving like it should in center.

I think I fixed it. I've been messing with this for over a year with this issue, and when you told me that the display would show what was happening, I think I realized I've been chasing my tail. I had the subtrim continually moving over as a starting point. So every time I started it up, it thought that was center, but it wasn't. So I moved everything back to zero with the droid off and the controller on. Turned on the droid, and it didn't move. Centered. Unbelievable. Can't thank you enough.

Okay, yeah that's what i was wondering....You tried calibrating the Flyskys sticks yet? (You do this by holding both sticks down and to the left when you turn it on and there will be a selection to "Sticks adjust"...It's probably not the problem but once you do it at least you can eliminate that possibility..)
