It sounds like it IS possible....But its not just a plug and play thing and I'm not quite sure how to do it😂👍

Depends on the radio and channel. It has to be on an analog input. You CAN change a potentiometer to a 6 position switch. I did that on my old FrSky X9D.

FrSky 6-Position Switch

The 6 position switch can be installed in place of your S1 or S2 ports at the top of your Taranis X9D radio or ports 1 & 5 on the X9E. The result will be a 6 position rotary switch that can be used for flight modes, flap positions, or whatever you can think of.

Though mine is a clone I think, because it has the Geehy chip, not the STM32 like the OEM has.

The only way of knowing that you will get the STM32 chip is buying it from FlySky, the only thing better about the STM32 chip is, that it can process faster, but I haven't really run into any issues of it being too slow👍
