I purchased a Fly Sky TH9X from Nitro Planes a few weeks ago and I think I might have a bad one or at least a couple of bad recievers? The first thing that caused concern was when one of the Rayovac batteries I installed popped within about 5 minutes of usage. I changed out for my JR Nimh 1500mil and it kept the transmitter on but runs it down within a half hour. That pack is a few years old so I am not sure about it. I now have a 850 mah 3s only charged to storage and that seems to be holding a lot better. But, and a big one at that I am having a serious range/bind? problem. I have only programmed 3 planes for this radio so far. A HK Pitts with gyro on rudder, a Dynam SR trainer, and a HK Radjet. It seems to perform flawless on the Pitts and the SR, although the servos don't seem to move smoothly like my Spectrum and JR, but I have lost the Radjet twice due to control loss. Each time was on a different receiver. I have tried different antenna orientation. making sure the speed controller was set on 8000mhz. etc. The radio doesn't facilitate reduced power when you hold the bind button. After another nerve racking flight this afternoon(no crash this time though) my son and I did our best to check range by me simply walking across the field and him giving constant input for the ailerons. It became a bit glitchy and the servo movement became less smooth at about 400ft and lost signal totally at around 600ft. Is this normal? I haven't tried it with the the other two yet but I did walk out the DX6i about another 300ft and it seemed fine. So I guess the question is, do I have a bad 9X/receivers or is this just as good as it gets. Thanks in advance for any help.
