Foamboard ARS 300

Now normal RC flying is fun don’t get me wrong, but I lack the energy of a compitition. This is why I have decided to get into Scale Aerobatics. Now I am not the best pilot, so before I can spend a few grand on a big 120cc plane, I gotta learn how to fly properly, and this is what this build is for. The ARS 300 is a full scale aerobatic plane, which I don’t know much about, but which I do know I like the look of.

This aircraft has been model a few times at a large scale with big balsa versions being sold be AJ and Skywing.
My version is a 1.2m span model. I got the side profile off the Skywing website I think, and scaled it down to the correct size, printed it out, and started building.

Ignore the second photo I cant delete it somehow lol.
I am going to use removeable wings. The aligners have been installed in this photo ^.

The motor mount has been installed, but not reinforced.

Motor mount reinforced and landing gear temporarily mounted. (There is more reinforcement now, and landing gear is permamently mounted, I just didn”t bother getting around to taking a photo)

Nah sorry no plans, this is a full scratch build from the side profile.

More work today…

Main wing spar and ESC in.

Servos in. Bigger thank 9g ones, I think one is a 20g futaba, and the other a 17g jr. I have some 17g metal gear hobbyking ones for the ailerons.

Aaaand wheels on. Used plenty of locktite too!

Added tail parts.

V-Stab defs looks a bit weird, so I will have to sort that out sometime. Too tall?
Anyway, next job is to get some internal structure, and the canopy.

I think the inwards angle at the back of the vstab is too sharp. That is what is making it look wierd. make the angle a little more shallow and it should look better
