FPV-2 Twin Boomer

Nope. The wing took some load and the fact it was not a solid mount helps.

I'm shocked I did not kill any of the props.

I'm going to install the Orange stabilizer for the next flight as well.

Almost back together.

Added some wing ends to help with stability and repairs.

Crush designed nose.

Moved the RX forward and added the stabilizer.

I need to make a new cover for the fpv gear but I want to get that under the lid and lower the camera so it does not affect the plane as much.

Added some paint last night and switched back to the 10" props.

The new camera setup is down much lower and with a better angle for improved aero.
Testing this weekend.

Switched back to my 10x7's.
On the YC-14 they were great.

Also applied a lot of colour.

Camera pod is now much lower then before.

TX under the cover for more protections.

Battery section is as clear of wires as possible. The OSD is secured to the right.

This weekend I hope to attempt a FPV flight.

I am going to make a few mods to my air frame.
Shorten the back end a touch and if required same on the nose section.
Want to see if I can lighten the plane up a touch more.

Also may look into placing the GoPro and case up around the GPS just to see how it looks from back there.

Keep up the good work! Great pics definitely inspire! I love the twin boom concept, hoping to make a pusher half as neat looking!

Thanks...

Before the weekend I'm going make those few minor edits to the fuselage (shorten the back end/re-profile to improve air flow to the elevator) and then chop 1" off the static vertical stabilizers.

GoPro testing as well.

Very tempted to redo the whole fuselage soon and tighten up everything.

But still trying to understand what I want out of this design.

Flying endurance or flat out performance.
Both can be achieved but really it comes down to things like 1 or 2 batteries.
Which really is peanuts when the Zippy Compact 2200 checks in at 113g.

I actually suspect I can still achieve my CG and get a short, narrower and tighter fuselage.

Specially since the power/tail section is what it is.

On the props. I'm happy with the 10x7 but I am tempted to try some 9x6 as well.

The Twin Boomer had her first flight since March.

Uploading a video. I should do an edit package.

I can say I really enjoyed flying the twin bird again.

The thing is on rails. As a pilot I've advanced so loops and rolls had to be tried.
Boomer did not fail me. So much fun.

And poor boomer came to an end last night.

Suffered an elevator failure while out testing the HK Bomb system.

We released the bomb which was fun and I used the motors to control altitude but on landing the bomb release mechanize caught the grass and tore the fuse apart.

Kind of sad but the gear is already being moved onto a new plane.
