Sure. I haven't updated my firmware to 2.0, so this is for the earlier versions. I'm not sure I will update since there is no more Templates menu in the TX simulator. I went there first to setup my Custom Functions to take a screenshot for you, instead I had to take an actual picture of my TX. I created my own audio files for the throttle enabled/disabled and my rates using this method.
This is the original video I learned this method from if my instructions don't convey what they should.
1. Menu Page 13/13 Templates select 02 Sticky-T-Cut
2. Menu Page 2/13 Model Setup for Timer 1 select THt then select Minute call, which is right below
3. Menu Page 6/13 Mixer select := MAX -100 to edit and specify the switch, I use SF↓
4. Menu Page 11/13 Custom Functions:

Of course, this could all be done without using a "Throttle Cut" switch, you could just have the switch arm your timer, but this may help avoid some bloody fingers someday. When I select SF↓ my TX says "Throttle disabled" and resets my timer. When I leave SF↓ and move the switch to SF↑ my TX says "Throttle enabled" and as soon as I move the throttle the timer starts.
Alex thanks for taking the time to write this up. I have been looking for something just like this so you've saved me a bunch of time and I am very thankful.
So I was trying to setup the "custom switches" for the Lipo Warning.
With 2.0 the Menu changed to Logical Switches and it's a little different. Would anyone be able to show an updated setup?
You bet!
Are you using the Lipo Voltage sensor with smart port? I've been meaning to pick one of those up for my blunt nose. Also, I have ordered several FrSky components from Skyward Hobbies and had wonderful success. They are right in your neck of the woods in Napavine.
Yes, Kurt, I realize that, I never said that it was missing, sorry for the confusion. They did rename it, however. What is missing is the Templates menu. It is no longer there.

Hey guys I'm having trouble flashing the new firmware to my Taranis. I have it connected with power off, then if I try it write to "Write firmware to radio" I get this message.

Sorry if I'm doing something obvious wrong, I've watching a lot of videos and reading a lot, but a bunch of stuff is different now with 2.0
If you are using 2.0 you need to hold trim tabs for rudder and ailerons to the center and turn radio on to get to firmware settings. Let us know if it works out.
I'm trying to update the radio from 1.2 to 2.0, and I thought that method was only the case if you were updating the radio from 2.0 and up, but not for updating from 1.2 to 2.0.
Correct. You use the old version to update the radio to 2.0.2, which also loads the new boot loader. From that point use the new companion.
A lot of folks have trouble with the DFU loader, and it's been discussed in detail on other boards. With the new boot loader, you'll never have that problem again.

Make sure you've got the right driver installed.

Install Companion2.0.2

Sounds like a lot, but you won't ever have to mess with the boot loader again. Here's the thread on the new software.
