Craftydan who is judging the contest?

We all are!

I'll post a poll later today, open to everyone on the forum until some time on the 31st. People vote, and let the group decide. Still have to figure out how to set up a poll, but as long as FM isn't putting his thumb on the scale again, it should at least be unbiased.

I'm tempted to start a "Meld Contest". Where the plane is 100% scratch built, all new parts, but you take the designs from two or more planes and put them together. OR a new configuration of an existing airframe. Like putting the wings of a Piper Cub on the bottom of the fuselage, instead of the top. I once thought it would be funny to fly a Piper Cub backwards. Make it a pusher plane and have the control surfaces in the front. Or just do something like put Spitfire wings onto the Baby Blender (making it no longer a bi-plane).

But I think the Holiday Contest is enough. I think it's a bad idea to have two contests going at once. Maybe we could do the "Meld Contest" next. Since it will be more of a Mod contest than a Frankenplane contest, we don't need the Halloween theme with it.

agreed -- more than one contest at a time and they'll just steal participants form each other. one at a time is sensable.

hmmm . . . sorta like an "airframe design extreme makeover" contest? interesting . . . might also go well as an early spring compitiion -- most everyone is still in build season, but fits with a spring cleaning/makeover/renewal feeling of the season. (at least in my head is does ;) ). But if you're gonna officiate, unless something changes it's your call.

Sounds like a plan to do the "Meld Contest" in the Spring. But it'll be a rather loose plan because it wouldn't start for two or three months. If a better contest idea comes up we can do that instead.
