Freeman 1600...

Hi!

I saw a review of the Freeman 1600 on HK a while ago, but it since disappeared from their inventory. Is there a reason for this, has Flitetest had a go at it ever?

I'm asking, cause I bought one earlier this year from a local (SA) dealer, and loved it. I'm just surprised that I don't see more of this plane around. Any reason?

It looks like an AXN Floater-jet to me... Is it the same, maybe?

They are really similar, but not the same.

In the video, Ben says that it is a little bigger than the AXN.

Hobbyking took the Freeman and shrunk it by 50% to make the Atom

Hobbyking probably decided they had enough planes almost identical to this. Often HK pulls planes due to difficulties with suppliers etc.

Like the Kinetic 800? They killed that one already.

I think that was a legal dispute with Multiplex... Shame, too. Was a good plane (though a little pricey)

They replaced it with the Spirit, which is a cool looking little plane. I kinda want one.

Yeah, Spirit looks cool. Hopefully someone will chuck two motors on that sucker - one on the pusher pod and one on the nose. Should develop some serious pace with the right setup!
