This was in the Aloft Hobbies
Newsletter I just received.

FrSky expects to have the X9D ready to go in April. The early Beta testing showed a few areas for improvement therefore FrSky has re-engineered and is currently re-testing. Beta version shown.

Did they hint at price?

Unfortunately no but I suspect it is to be a competitor with the 9XR. Look at the name 9XD for a strong hint of the target! It would also explain why Hobby King went with the Orange DMX module for the 9XR rather than the FrSky (which is VASTLY superior).

I've been planning on switching to a FrSky module, anyway. For the cost, it might be about the same price just to buy the new tx, then. Nice. Then I can switch my Turnigy to the Orange Dsmx/2 module.

You have to be kidding me.....although variety is a good thing, had my cursor hovering over the submit button for a Turnigy 9xr to replace my old 9x when i saw this thread. Good gosh what to do now?

Course we have been waiting on a Tx from Frsky for some time now....all new territory for them, fully expect first few out of market to be rather buggy.

Frisky does make a jr compatible module that you can plug into your 9X or 9XR, or buy the DIY module and mount it internally in most xmtrs.

Times is good my friends. Now all I gotta do is find some way to pay for it all.

Same ole story.
