I never had an issue learning the openTX interface. It makes sense to me, but it is far more in depth than anything you get on a spektrum radio and I suppose more options and more variables make it more complex than some people want. I've set up everything from regular planes with no mixes to flaperons and the thrust vectoring paddles on my X31, a little trial and error is all it took. I've set up helicopters and quads too. Quads are super easy to set up.
