Help! FS-I6 Transmitter Binding Issue

Hello everyone,

I’m new to this hobby and need some help. I have an FS-i6 transmitter and FS-i6B receiver, but I’m having trouble binding them. The receiver is in binding mode (LED flashing), but when I try to bind the transmitter, it gets stuck on "RX Binding" and doesn’t connect.

Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Try binding it while being about 10ft away from the receiver.

...The receiver is in binding mode (LED flashing)...
In bind mode, you should have a fast blink, 4-5 blinks per second. If you are slow blinking, 1-2 blinks per second, the Rx is looking for a signal, your not in bind mode.

You might want to plug that esc into ch3 btw

  • Plug in bind plug
  • Plug ESC into channel 3
  • Plug battery into esc
  • Receiver light should blink quickly
  • Hold transmitter 3 feet away from receiver
  • Hold down bind button on transmitter
  • Turn on transmitter
  • Binding should be successful at this point (hope)
  • Remove bind plug from receiver
  • Unplug battery from esc
  • Turn off transmitter
  • Plug battery back in
  • Turn transmitter back on
  • Verify bind

Hm. On a couple of my off brand receivers, it says it’s stuck, but when you turn it off and back on, it works. Try that. Otherwise, post a video. Also, do you have another transmitter that it does work for, so that you know your technique is correct?

Oh, last thought, I’ve had these behave like this when I powered them with a 1s battery that was low on charge. We can’t see what’s on the other end of your wire there, but if that’s giving less than 5v, low voltage might be the issue.

Cannot tell by picture do you have positive and negative connected to the right pins? Center pin is signal two outside pins + and -.

Yeah, top pin is signal, middle is positive, button is negative. But the fact that the receiver is lighting up shows that at least the positive and negative are correct.

First thing is to try moving the transmitter at least three feet away from the receiver when you try to bind. In that video you’re about 3 inches away.

The second thing I would try is to test the power. Since this is on a quad, I would imagine that you’re getting power via the flight controller. That <should> be giving you 5v, but something could be wrong. I would instead try running it directly from one of the ESCs to eliminate that possibility.

The power is not coming through flight controller but I will try by a seperate esc and battery

That’s too close, back up the transmitter several feet and try again, I’ve had this happen all the time.
