2 juicy builds ready for airtime and no weather to fly in yet... now what? A winter plane? I still have 4 sheets of FB left.

A little glue and tape on the nose will be all it takes - was very surprised that the wing/fuse didn’t get banged up at all really! Are you able to fix your 22?
I’ll probably do a sea angel for my winter plane. I wanted to do the sea duck but since I don’t have two of the same motors, I can’t. You could do the sea otter maybe...

The Sea Angel would be a cool plane. When I first seen it I didn.t like the look of the huge nacelle on top, the rest of the plane looks cool though.

I am in the same boat as far as the lack of a twin pack. I might take a look through the plan index and see what pops out.

Guess what - I just ordered another 2215 c pack motor and another 2213 b pack motor, so now I can do two twin engines if I want! All I need for the sea duck is some ftfb...

How are you getting your ftfb? Shipping from the FT store is a fortune.
I’ve only got it at my lhs for $3 a sheet, but you can order two 25 packs on the ft store and get free shipping... I just haven’t done it yet. That way it comes to 2$ a sheet. No 23$ shipping fee like if you order the 50 sheet box.

When I look on the store at the 50 sheet box for $90 it wants to charge $43 for shipping. I added a few small parts to get over $100 to see if that would qualify for free shipping and the shipping fee only went up more. :(

If I was you I would use the same DTFB you have been using and minwax the plane post build/pre paint. Seals up everything and you don't have to do extra steps to seal edges, all happens at once. If your planning on submarining the plane the FTFB might help delamination on the inside. Unless you remove all the paper from the inside... just a thought

Try adding two boxes of 25 sheets, and you should get free shipping. You are in the US, Right?

I do plan on flying it off the water too, but removing the paper from the inside is a good Idea. Would help drop the weight which would be good as i'm going to be flying off a 5000mah 3s!:D Might as well just go for the ftfb as this will be a plane I plan on keeping for a long time!

I agree but I’ve heard from @MiniacRC that the ftfb forms much nicer than the regular DTFB.

Got some video of the FT-22 maiden, I know you paid for the whole seat but you are just going to need the edge:

Servo stripped and inverted the plane, right at that moment before it rolled I quickly looked at my Tx to see where my throttle was at and there was nothing I could do by the time I looked up. In the vid you can pretty much pin point when things went south...

This is the aftermath of the flight:

It is fixable, graft a new nose on and replace the servo. I might just start over and make a V3, but this will be at a later date. 2 flights on two versions and 2 crashes, not to motivated to keep going on this one yet.

The plane is a great design and fun to fly but I obviously am having electronics issues at this point. Need to figure out the issues.

Thanks for reading

What a bummer... my v3 flew so well but my modded v4 is still having issues... haven’t gotten to remaiden it due to weather.

Ran 2 packs through my Mini F22 today. Second pack was with a 1300 3s which I found it flew so much better than the 800 3s. Basically flew full power for 75% of the time and it lasted 4 minutes. I had my GoPro with me but I didn't record it, should have. Really enjoying that plane.
