FT Aura 5 Mounting in Mini Tutor

Hello,

I am introducing some students to RC flight using the Tiny Tutor with the Aura 5 (after carnage last spring trying Mini-explorers without stabilization). I 3D printed the base from Flex Innovations so we can glue those in, then just unscrew the Aura 5 board to swap to new airframes as "decommissions" occur.

I don't see an obvious place to mount the Aura 5 in the Tiny Tutor that's level AND easily accessible for connections.

How have others mounted the FT Aura 5 in the Tiny Tutor?

Thanks!

not enough room above the servos?
Here are some pics.

My fingers are too short to reach the bottom of the fuse if mounted there.

My current thought is to put in a shelf in front of the servos, a couple inches down, and mount it there.

Hopefully my students have enough room around their servos for that... and are able to glue a shelf in fairly level!

Is that making sense?

yes, that's exactly what i was thinking.
Ok, thanks!

Any thought to help students glue it in level? Some of them are building on their own.

Or will the Aura be able to trim it out ok?

I'm planning to have them fly as is at first, then work on trimming after they've had it in the air.

This is actually my first time working with both the airplane and the gyro... but hey, as long as I stay one step ahead of what I'm teaching!

i would cut some identical pieces of foam and glue them to the sides as posts to glue the platform onto.
then it will be level with the floor

That makes sense - I'll figure out a measurement from the floor that puts the shelf at a convenient height.
Thanks @bisco !
