They've dropped hints that a big version might be coming in the future. In any event I do hope we get to see this plane on the main channel soon.
they have????? where? what hints? that'd be awesome.. I mean they should.. who wants a mini!? and Ben already made it in a large scale size.. so just size it up for a C pack and good to go! I really want to play with their new building techniques and want a trainer so this fits the bill

Same, can't wait for a scaled up version! And plans for both a large one would be awesome to have!

It does look like a cool plane but I just don't have much interest in a mini high wing. If it were larger, possibly. Which in that case, I could scale up the plans (which honestly I have never done on an FT plane yet). I got so many other planes I'm checking out now anyways. If only the rain/thunderstorms would stop so I could start maidening a few.

Yeah, I don't really like the mini's either. I hope they release a large scale version.

In the thread where Ben posted his video he mentioned the possibility of other variants that might be planned for the future.

I just love the look of this plane. Although larger planes are easier to fly and can fly more scale, I prefer the mini's, easier to transport. Looking forward to plans for the FT Commuter. Canadian regulations don't make it easy for big planes.

Canadian regulations aren’t good for anything except showing how bad and pointless regulations are!
We are going to have the same problem, what’s the all up weight of the Commuter?

I'm considering pulling the trigger to start this one, but what about the wheels? I've not yet watched the full assembly video, but there's no mention of the wheels in any of the parts lists.

If I were to try doing this on my own, using my own foam board, there are still a few things I'd need to purchase (control rods, the wooden parts, the wheels and such). Is there a parts or shopping list on their site that helps detail all of this? I'd hate to get to the 95% point then discover i need to buy more and have to wait for shipping.

You would need-
Three 18” control rods, people use any stiff wire around 1.2-1.5mm for that, the wire “ground marker flags” and thin bike wheel spokes are popular.
4 control horns- These can be made from scrap plastic (store discount cards etc) or wood/hobby ply or bought laser cut from the store.
A couple of fire walls for the power pod- Make from hobby ply, 3d print or can be bought laser cut from the store. You want spares as the powerpod is designed to break in a crash.
Wire for undercarriage- 2mm or similar, people use coat hanger wire. Match the diameter to the wheels you want. Buy light and wide foam wheels for easy landing.
The templates for the control horns and firewall are on the plans, printed in a corner usually, to help make your own. None of this stuff is at all specialist, most can be found in regular stores with a bit of searching. We don’t have an FT store in Europe, we have to find or make all of it. It’s not hard. A Speedbuild kit will save you time and has everything with it tho.

The SBK comes with firewall, control horns, control rods, bbq skewer, Velcro for the battery and elastic bands to hold the wings on. They often do come with undercarriage and wheels as well. Not all of them, so double check on the store listing.
Not having to cut a load of stuff out is great if you want to get building. Another top tip I learned about the kits is to save the frames the parts come in, they act as free templates to draw the outlines of replacements or make another whole plane from.
Buy extra mini firewalls if you order from the store, you will need them, plus spare props.

At Flite Fest over the weekend, my camping neighbor bought one and assembled it. It flew amazingly well for its size. I considered getting one but I plan to scale it up for my build. I have been waiting for bird for a while as I have a Carbon Z Cessna 150 and it needs a little brother!
