Love my Corsair!my first planned build, ive done some scratch builds before but this is my first rc. Added leds and bullet holes as my paint didnt stick to the wax coated foam. She looks like shes been through hell. Also only flown a hand full of times but my eppenage ripped off. Not sure why and not to sure how to reinforce it. Ill figure it out! Great plane tho thanks guys!

Kind of shame that the foamboard isnt silver colored, that way peeled paint would look like proper weathering. Still, the plane looks very good

Nice work on the weathering! How did you do the bullet holes, those are sweet looking!
Even looks like you spring an oil leak out of one of them. Killer👏🏼
LEDs are such a nice touch. I just got my first set as I’m looking for those extra details to make these things another level of fun. Now I just need to decide what to build and install them on.

Regarding paint, I learned real quick how valuable a light sanding is on that wax treated FB. I was amazed at his chunks of paint would just flake right off otherwise. But a 200+ grit sandpaper or sanding sponge to scuff it up makes it hold the paint so much better.
Keep up the great work though! Plane looks great considering!

In the FT Corsair video John Overstreet says to fold the flaps open then glue them, then wipe away the excess Why do we need to glue these flaps?

@Dazzy that's to strengthen the fold and prevent the paper backing to separate from the foam. This procedure is common in all of the Flite Test models.

Out of Foam Board!
Just thought I'd show this quick mod so the elevator can fold up for easier storage (only really helps with a removable wing too, but combined it reduced the space it takes up)

Wow how sad! I guess I won’t be flying anytime soon. No plans =‘s no fix, no fly! Can’t rebuild a plane without plans only seems logical to me that if you buy a plane it should come with plans

You could just buy another kit, it's only 30$.
I rebuilt my FT zero this way a few times.
That’s absolutely true I could but why should I spend another $30 when all I need is a wing? Plus it’s not just $30 it’s the $30 plus the shipping which brings it to about $60 for that I can just save another hundred dollars and go get a foam RTF of the corsair by horizon hobby.
Not the Avenue I wanted to go down.

you can also trace the sbk before folding/building it, so you have plans for the future

Plus I put a lot of time and energy into my plane for it to look nice it would suck to have to start all over from scratch

I only wish I would’ve done that before I put the plane together but it’s a lesson learned so moving forward every plane that I buy I will make sure and trace everything onto paper first so that I have a set of plans and not have to search for them.
