My Flerken went together really well straightforward I did nothing different than normal. I have to say it is incredibly sturdy and I'm kind of surprised by that. There's plenty of space inside and as I understand it a 3300 milliamp hour three cell will balance it pretty well.

Having stabilization or some sort of friend launch it makes a big difference on success until you get it dialed in. As with all wings CG is touchy I'm sure.

Once I finish printing the "wooden pieces", I was able to button it up and now I plan on flying tomorrow.
I may go back and spray paint the top orange with possibly some tiger striping. Maiden first.

On the nano it seemed the more nose heavy the better, I’d start a ways in front of what they recommend

I got a chance to maiden my Flerken it today.
Balance just behind the marks. I put the throttle to 100% and side-arm threw it, And off she went. A bit of up trim, and had stick off flying.
I used a 2212 1400kv on a 2200mah 3S battery. With a 1300mah ballast battery to balance.

It flew great, and before long (3 packs) I was getting fancy. Including inverted flying first high. Then lower, and it got in a way I wasn't sure what to do. I chose, poorly and it nosed in.

I would like to say that this plane is surprisingly robust and sturdy. This is what came from the nose in to the field. Not bad.

Build one and send it.

here I want to show you the flights, the first flight the plane was very heavy and flew very fast, then I lengthened the wings and the nose and it was the longest flight the plane behaved slower and more docile but the next flight it crashed on takeoff and the wing broke in the middle.

The Flerken build was really "fun"! i got the Body-to-wing top plate messed up. on the video i didn't see that the score cuts were supposed to go face down... than the wing dId not fit flush with the body, and had to glue and tape together, I had no idea that i needed a servo center tool. one of the wings dihedral is More than the other one. I made a bunch of noob mistakes... Dunno if the hunk of junk is gunna fly. :(

My Flerken was tail heavy, using 3s 4000mah and still needed to add 3 oz of weights. Auw was 1070g.
Mod it with 2 1/2in nose extension.
Now using only 3s 2600mah Li-ion and no weight needed, and auw is only 750g.
Emax x2212 1400kv,
30A ESC and 9x4.5prop.
It flew great today, after 2 flights and found the wing split open on one side. Need some reinforcement now.

exactly that was one of the problems that I found, I had to install a carbon rod

Steve Lenox modified This Flerken to fly with twin 50mm edfs. Had issues with his first build but his second one is flying good. Really looks great in the air and has pretty good speed. Here is link to the video we took on Saturday. He also maidened his beautiful X-29 powered by a 70mm edf.
