Hi
I've decided to build the Scout XL and have downloaded the plans. The plan shows the wings having separate top and bottom sections but the build video shows it all in one piece and folded over at the leading edge - which is correct?
Flite Test Manufacturing uses larger sheets than a standard 20 x 30. They use a 30 x 40 sheet that has a score cut in the center and is folded for shipping. They use that score cut strategically to create pieces that are larger than a 20 x 30 sheet can fit. All that means, is when building from plans using 20 x 30 material, there may be some extra work that needs to be done. In this case, yes, the wing panels need to be taped together at the leading edge, then beveled and assembled per the build video. Hope that helps.

The plans were a previous version. The video is for the speed build kit sold by the store, for which plans are NOT offered. So there will be some slight variations. You could, however, simply tape the two wing pieces together where they are shown together in the video and build them as shown.
The official Flite Test version of the Scout XL plans (v1.5) were released on the resources page in October, 2022. Some modifications needed to be made to accommodate standard 20 x 30 foam board (see previous post). Plans can be downloaded for free from the link below:
