Well I haven't used mine in water yet, but I'm confident that the tape I used will do well. its very sticky ( can be applied underwater) and thick. Will be trying it on a lake with-in the next few weeks.

This tape is great for leading edges too although a bit heavier than other options .

I used that gorilla tape on the bottom of mine. Has held up to well over 100 flights on grass, snow, ice, slush, puddles, run off streams, ect

possibly make a very light vacuum formed lower-shell cover? think of the tray that holds biscuits - very thin and very light - you can make a simple vac form machine with a hoover!

If you are going to do that, would be easier to paint on some 30min epoxy thinned with alcohol.

 

[Sero]

The epoxy I've used (BSI) doesn't adhere to the water resistant FB very well, you need to peel the paper off. It sticks very well to the foam.
