So I built the simple scout based on plans and threw a C pack motor in it with a 1300 3S battery. Due to the heavier motor and battery I had to move the servos all the way back in the fuse with them showing on the outside of the plane. The plane still flew well but I wanted to better accommodate the servos internally and reduce the boxy looking wing. I also use an FT power pod that is cutoff at the first set of tabs. It fit but only after notching out a bit of the wing.
Decided it was time to learn Inkscape and use it to modify the plans to share with all if it works out.
The goals:
- Elongate the fuse to move the servos further back and keep them inside the fuse
- Make the wing a little wider with a smooth airfoil
- Emphasize the scallops a bit more (personal preference as I think it looks better)
- Add a 1/4” to the nose to get my power pod to fit
Struggled through some tutorials and am getting the hang of it now. I ended up starting with the wing from the Bloody Baron and elongating it a bit as well as emphasizing th3 trailing edge scalloping. Also added a little over two inches to the rear of the fuse and extended the bottom fuse cover. Also emphasized the scallops on the the elevator and rudder.
