FT Sparrow with FlySky FS-i6

Hi everbody,

I had to figure this out on my own, since I couldn't find any instructions on how to make the FlySky FS-i6 transmitter work for the Sparrow.

Some background (n00b perspective)

The FS-i6 provides both V-Tail and Elevon mixing. However, the V-Tail mixing assumes you have separate ailerons, so you're stuck using rudder and elevator, which is a bit awkward.. So that's out.

The Elevon mixing just didn't work for me.. perhaps I didn't know what I was doing.

So I ended up mixing manually.

How I set it up

  1. Go to the mix menu
  2. Mix 1—Master: Ch1, Slave: Ch2, Pos mix -100%, Neg mix -100%, save
  3. Mix 2—Master: Ch2, Slave: Ch1, Pos mix 100%, Neg mix 100%, save

I'm leaving out a lot of details. Watch the build video to learn which way the surfaces should deflect when you move the stick. If things are backwards, try swapping the servos for channels 1 and 2. I ended up reversing Channel 1 (aileron) in the Reverse menu.

Hope that helps!
