FT Spitfire - OK, now I get it

Everybody raves about the FT Spitfire so after two years in the hobby I built one. Nice simple design and relatively easy build - I couldn't resist doing some mods like a top battery hatch and adding a 3D printed canopy. When it was done it felt heavy and I thought "Oh boy, this will be a handful". For the maiden I added up trim and about 2/3 throttle and wow what a great flying plane. I had to take out the trim and throttle back to half and just cruised. I get it! Great plane.

My third FT Spitfire got its first flight today. After chucking on about 40g of nose weight, and a lot of set-up issues (mainly due to unfamiliarity with the transmitter), we got a good few minutes in a rather stiff breeze. Then, once I landed it, I adjusted the elevator trim, and she was perfect. I even managed a pretty decent loop with her! (And that was my first with a big model!)

This is the best one yet!

Here's mine - not the greatest video clip, as the Spitfire disappears from time to time, but it is what it is!

I've flown mine twice more this weekend. Despite the wind (which is really starting to annoy me now!), this little Spitfire hasn't put a foot (or a wingtip!) wrong. OK, so I'm not doing anything crazy like aerobatics with it, but it will fly in some pretty gusty conditions without a problem. And I wasn't even going flat out!
