Hi , I have just finished building my ft spitfire but I dont want to install a landing gear on it ( It will look ugly ) , so I will have to hand launch and belly land it ( on grass ). Is this method safe , or I will have to sacrifice its appearance ?

Belly landers are perfectly fine. I know several people who have done that with the MiG and the Mustang; you're just doing it with a different airframe body. :)

And I've got a 3D printed Spitfire that's got no landing gear; it's a hand launch belly lander. I think you'll be fine. :)

I just finished my 125% FT spitfire and I didn't do landing gear. It lands just fine on it's belly.

I have a Ft Mustang and its fine as a belly lander, in fact its better in high grass than with gear.

Along with the great points made by others here, the Spit's style of landing gear is pretty narrow and tall, making it a bit of a handful on the takeoff and landing ground rolls

My Mini Spitfire (60% size of the original, built of foam with a thickness of only 3mm) has been flying in the local airspace for almost three years now and has had countless belly landings behind it.

Except for the rubber bands I didn't have to renew anything!
Do not forget to check the condition of the rubber bands before every take off! ;)
