February is FT-Build-Ruary Month!

Hi All, Welcome to the new year!
I challenge all here to turn February into FT-Build-Ruary

So Many Planes So Little Time:
I, like most folk in this community, have a LONG build list of planes I would LOVE to build. In the last year and late 2018 there has been in incredible influx of new fantasy Planes, Plans, builds and ideas/inspiration with the Bloody WWII Baby! forum thread and and the FTFC: WWII Design & Build Challenge, and the FTFC: Fantasy Aircraft Design & Build Challenge

Challenge: Spend February building at least 4 functioning RC Foam planes. Make a list and Build-log for each plane on the list. This will be scored out of 100 pts. (5 pts for entry, and 24 pts for each Build)

TO ENTER:
Be sure to post your entry below:
Must have a Declaration of participation with a link to your Build Thread
a list of your four(4) planes.

Build Thread Summary (5 pts):
Start a Thread - "FTFC19: Build-ruary by (Builder)" with your linked build list. Include your estimated Build Skill and Piloting Skill (1=New, 5=Expert)

Example:
FTFC19: Build-ruary by FoamyDM (Build Skill: 4 Skilled, Pilot SKill: 5 Novice)
  1. FT-Storch Kit
  2. 445mm Micro Wing -For the kids
  3. FT-SeaDuck Kit
  4. FTFC - Fantasy Design & Build:
Extras:
  • FT Explorer (lit)
*Extra Planes beyond the submitted four(4) will be counted for 30% value (round up)*
For this entry I would earn - 13pts. Most of these are at or above my build and piloting skill level, the delta is well below.

BUILD POSTS: (24pts each)
Set aside Posts 2 - 5 and title them "FT-Build-Ruary: (plane) Build by (builder)"
Each build post will be scored as follows:
  1. 1pts Picture of the plane
  2. 2pts Plans link and/or Forum link (for other community memmbers to find them)
  3. 2pts Reason for choosing this plane
  4. 6pts Build-log: A brief explanation of your build process, and note difficulties, changes and tips along the way. Be sure include your build pics and a estimated build time.
  5. 2pts Build Rating (1 Simple -5 Complex), Use These Icons:
  6. 3pts Color Scheme - A decorated plane is more fun!
  7. 4pts Maiden Video
  8. 2pts Fly rating (1 Easy - 5 Sketchy) Use These Icons:
  9. 2pts Post-project reflective statement. (Summary of Do's, Don't and tips)
*Planes started prior to Febraury 1st will take a 5 pt. deduction.*

I will keep a running tally in a post below for easy reference!

Challenge Begins February 1st and Ends on the 1st of March 2018!

The Winner will receive (Supplied by FoamyDM):
  • Bragging Rights!
  • Full Size Printed Plans*
  • Full Size color Skin Plan Print*

I am interested......
Excellent! Let me know what you Think you'll tackle and I'll add it to the entry list. This may be a bit fluid. if you look at last year, a couple of us changed some of the builds mid-contest. (sometime one over estimates ones [me] available time)

I'd love to, but I will miss way too much build time with some vacations that month. I look forward to seeing all the entries, though!

Remember, Students need only do 2 projects as school takes precedence and Feb. is busy. Points for Student builds are double.
If you change planes mid-contest... that's ok. 4 planes - 4 weeks.

1 more entry and it might be a Contest. 2 more beats out last year.

Last year, we had 4 entries that stuck. we had a lot of fun.
I'd like to re-invite @DamoRC , @foamtest and @Daniel Kezar back to the fray!

are you changing an entry or changing the challenge? Either way I'm down!
I would be changing my entry #4.

Welcome aboard @kilroy07 first post updated, thank you for the link.

I am guilty as well but please don't forget to start a thread with the entry title so I can link it and we can track your progress during the month and encourage each other

and yes, Kilroy, the Fantasy Design Build is supposed to be done by the end of Feb. (I've been tempted to add any re-builds to the I need to the list instead.)

@Grifflyer - I hear you have 3 planes builds and one re-build.
YES - I've learned along time ago through running D&D that when it comes to hobbies, the answer starts with YES.

the caveat being full credit for a detailed re-buid. (surgery and remakeing parts, etc.)
1548343427058.png
1548343584688.png

High Partial - show us how to take a "broken wing" and make it fly again -like rebuild the front half. or
1548343385762.png
1548343611020.png
1548343651138.png

mid partial for a remake of a wing or nose cone. and some reinforment added
1548343509376.png

low partial for a glue, tape and fly job.
1548344101082.png

Does that sound fair to you? and what should I sign you up for?

I'd say Mine falls under the category of full re-build or High Partial, what do you think?
