Time to start the airframe of the Master Series Spitfire. First Master Series so I am looking forward to the build. Bought the SBK because I felt it will be enough to focus on technique without making more work for myself trying to cut parts and wonder why they don’t match up well.
It will be painted and finished like my FT Spitfire I built last year. It was an eatherintended as a test bed for this aircraft.

weather is going to be really good for priming airframes outside in North Carolina this week. So big push on the MS Spitfire.
Got the wing together.

Hopefully, aside from Valentines Day….I can make some good progress on assembly for primer on Wednesday.
Although that is not likely to happen.
Got some more progress done on the Spitfire. Just need to mount the wings, fairings, and battery hatch. Should get the primer coat of paint this week.

Got back on the Spitfire for the Spring finish challenge. Got the wing on and the canopy assembled and glued on. Nearing the finish line. Next week looks cold so I will shoot for paint in about 5 days.

Started the Tutor first to gain some traction.

Cutting……cutting……cutting…

I am liking my decision to build a Combat Tutor. This thing is built like a tank. Triple fuselage ”doublers” makes this a stout airframe. It’s going to be like driving a truck through the combat fur ball.
Plan for day 2…finish fuselage and power pod. Start turbo version of the wing.

Not much progress…..But I did finish my taxes….so I got that going for me.
Built the wing

Added some reinforcement for the main gear. The runway at Flitefest is a bit rough.

I got my receivers in the mail yesterday so I can build the power pod and get the airframe ready for primer. The power pod is definitely tight as most people report. I “crushed” mine in slightly and it helps quite a bit.

74 degrees tomorrow. Need to get this Tutor ready for paint.

Got the Tutor primed for paint.

This week I hope to get final paint and assembly done.

This plane is officially scrapped. The paint colors let me down. The florescent colors were runny, poor coverage and not near as vibrant as the caps on the paint cans. As hard as it is to believe it isn’t worthy of a combat death.
Very disappointed, but life is too short to suck.

Started the Goblin. Very simple and straight forward. One day airframe build like the Bloody Baron.
Wing built

Fuselage started. GG on the firewall so about an hour and a half before I start up again. I could build the nose but I’m not in that big of a hurry. I just need it to be ready for primer on Wednesday.

Just need to hook up the elevens, and program some rates and expo.
Goblin is DONE.

I've never seen a "combat". So... in combat, you all actually try to hit each other and this plane is specially designed to take abuse???

Yes. Put 60 planes in the air and try to be the last one standing.…so to speak. Great fun and not something you can experience outside of Flightfest. At least not to that magnitude.
Surprisingly a lot of planes will run out of battery before they get taken out. I was in three combat flights and was only knock out of the sky once. If there is a collision you want to be the plane doing the damage. The more robust your plane the better your Chances are …in theory.

60 planes is probably a low estimate.
It is surprisingly difficult to hit something when you're trying to. I think I've flown in three combats and only ever had one touch.

I am going to amend the build list. Since the Noob Wonder will not be finalized, I am going to do bump it with another quick build.
Enter the Goblin. If I like it I will probably build a Flerken for Flightfest.
Looks like more and more the Sea Duck will be featured in Finishuary.

I'm about to do the same. One of mine is taking way too much design time to get it right... or it may be I'm simply anal retentive about the design.

But that is half the fun. Quick foam builds allows for a lot of varied and interesting designs, challenges, and improvement of one’s skill set.

Looks good to finish the Goblin and Tutor.
Finishing paint on the Spitfire will be just under the wire……maybe.
No room to start the Sea Duck at the moment. First priority is paint and finish Tutor and Goblin.
