This thread will document the build for our massive b29 project. We are starting 2 months late and taking on one of the biggest planes. So wish us luck lol. We just started so it will be only cad progress for a wile. We are hoping to have the cad fully complete in a week or so, and then start cutting... Its going to be a lot, thankfully we have a cnc to do it. Any tips or help is greatly appreciated and activity on the thread makes it more fun. If we can complete this it will be our largest plane by 6 in lol.

The Plan:
Powerplant 4 XL powerpacks with 40 amp escs (edit) found out that we need to spin bigger props that 12 in more like 14- 15 in so they wont work.
any recommendations for better (cheaper) motors would be appreciated.
Battery's are still undecided whether we do 2 (1per side) or 1 per motor
Landing gear will be 3d printed with maybe some carbon fiber reinforcements, all operated by servos
Servos (undecided) we will have 1 per aileron 1 for each flap 2 for the elevator and 1 for the rudder (excluding landing gear)
Is there a good servo to be on a long wire and not lose power due to the volage drop of the length?
V1 may have a bomb bay, we are doing this because we want to drop a mini X1 out of it so the prototype plane may get sacrificed for that.
Transport:
The fuselage will be split after the wing joint
Each wing will be split after the first motor pod(so the gear is attached to the main structure).
Still don't know how we will make them rigid and come apart but probably something 3d printed.
If anyone has recommendations for good spars that can slot into each other, it would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, bump it up to $240 (Still less than half) and you can get 3 flights out of this! JK 😂 😂 (Actually I have put these esc's thru the wringer and they are still running strong!)
Oh yeah, I think I’ve pushed 100a through mine once.
